Ian is a real estate professional who grew up in Illinois, studied in Ohio, and is excited for the opportunity to start his new life Detroit. Ian attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where he earned his undergraduate degree in 2008 and studied Geography, Political Science, and Mandarin. He then moved to Columbus, Ohio, where he worked in community and housing development and attended The Ohio State University for his graduate degree in city planning and public administration.

At Work

Working as the Associate Director for Leasing and Retail Services in Wayne State University’s Division of Business and Auxiliary Operations, Ian’s main responsibilities include filling, managing, and improving the commercial retail properties owned by the University. Recent projects include developing efficient and effective lease administration systems, helping streamline the tenant build out process, and attracting new tenants to Wayne State University.

At Play

Ian enjoys spending his free time on the water. Growing up as a sailor on Lake Michigan, he cannot wait for his first spring of sailing on Lake St. Clair. Ian can also be found poking around Detroit’s neighborhoods, where he loves to discover new places, people, and buildings.
