Originally from Rochester, New York, Susan Hopkins earned a bachelor’s degree from Kenyon College and a master’s degree from the University of Oregon. Prior to joining DRFP, Hopkins worked as a project manager at ECONorthwest, an economics and finance consulting firm located in Portland, Oregon, where she managed projects for public and private sector clients around the US. At ECO, she was most recently based in New Orleans where she completed an Economic Development Strategy for Baton Rouge and an Industrial Land Needs Assessment and Action Plan for Oklahoma City.
Prior to her work at ECO, Hopkins worked as a development coordinator managing the pre-development and entitlements processes for commercial and residential projects throughout the Pacific Northwest, including more than a dozen Home Depot, Costco and related large-format retail developments, a variety of urban mixed-use redevelopment projects in Portland, Oregon, and the $200m Matthew Knight collegiate basketball arena in Eugene.
Hopkins is delighted to join the Detroit Downtown Partnership (DDP) team and is currently working on a variety of initiatives.
Hopkins enjoys exploring new restaurants and playing golf.
